Banana Chapathi - kids Delight

When I made dates paratha my kids enjoyed it a lot then I wanted to try banana chapathi for long time and I made it yesterday. They liked it very much. I am sure your kids would love this too. You can serve this as a breakfast or evening snack with a cup of milk. If you wish sprinkle some honey on top of the chapathi and serve.

Ingredients
  • Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Banana – 1 or mashed banana – ½ cup
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Soda salt – ½ tsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Thick yogurt/curd  - 2 ½ tbsp.
  • Ghee as required

Method

Mash the banana and keep aside. Take a bowl, add wheat flour, sugar, soda salt, salt and mix. Add mashed banana, yogurt and knead into a soft dough. (if necessary sprinkle some water and knead into a soft dough)
Keep it aside covered for 5-6 hours. Divide the dough into equal sized balls and roll out into a thin disc. Fold it into four to make a triangle shape and roll it again.

Heat a dosa pan over medium heat. Place the chappathi. Sprinkle some ghee on pan and cook the rolled chappathi. Sprinkle some ghee on the chappathi, turn over and cook.

Repeat with the rest of the dough.

Serve hot with honey or as it is.

Some of my friends actually add a lillte mashed banana to the flour while making normal chapathis to make it soft. Liked this too. Should be very tasty for the little ones.
